In Globaloria you will create a blog, join a team, develop a game, and present your game to students and faculty throughout the country. To accomplish the goal, we will have to learn from each other. When you graduate, neither I nor your other teachers will be leaving with you, so you must utilize your resources to find solutions; Globaloria is a stepping stone that will help you become a better problem solver. I'm glad you are here!

You Guys Make Me Proud
You guys are awesome!!! It's been difficult getting classes to occur. One school off, others on, tough to make thing happen. Today, you guys were all over it ---- Kadie (although her project page gives me a headache) is whipping through the pages; "I Beat You With Rubber Chickens" has changed their buttons, helped other groups, and just driving ahead; "Blue Impact" --- really, a button that changes underpants colors --- now that's funny. Take some time to determine any questions you have because I have invited Carl, one of the Globaloria interns , to come next week to offer assistance. Pick his brain especially on the primary scene and animation. Bottom Line --- Keep up the good work!

We Had Class !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check it out, we actually had class today. This is so exciting. Everyone got a chance to watch the Taco Game Demo example. The discussion was on the need to ensure your game is Fun and Educational. No quiz questions! We also touched base on the need to add buttons to advance your game demo (that way you are in control of your presentations). I noticed some people are not uploading each section of your game demo to your team page. Start uploading every class so you don't need to go back and do it later. Pretty good job today ---- don't stress about not being done. We are all in the same boat with the snow.

And the snowy/icy weather drags on.........
We continue to not have Globaloria due to weather conditions. This will not deter us!!! I have shifted Game Demos to Feb 15th. I know it is getting more difficult but we can do this.

Snow Delays
It's getting tougher to get everything accomplished with the continuous weather delays. This will be the second week in a row that we have been unable to have class due to weather. Those who have switched teams need to stay focused to get everyone on the same page. Weather permitting, we will be doing our game demos the week of Feb 8th, so keep moving forward.

New Semester, New Teams
The new semester has brought new challenges. Changing schedules have resulted in lots of broken up teams ---- which led to new teams being formed. Those of you joining new teams have really taken on the challenge with style. No Whining, No "it's not fair", just getting the job done. That was great to see. Also everyone has been combined into one class, so it's much easier for team learning. Farewell to our lost teams:

We need your input on Project Ideas
There are a lot of really neat ideas from the different teams for game ideas. Unfortunately, many could be better developed. As a group in Globaloria we are trying to come up with ideas that are civic/news literacy/citizenship in nature but can still include STEM. So, you are tasked to come up with one idea that could be developed into a game that includes the concepts above. I expect more than 1 sentence. This should be a thought out idea.
